When high level clouds roll in it is a great time to go out and shoot.

Much like how photographers use reflectors to cast soft light onto a subject the clouds can also act like a giant reflector.

So for about 10 minutes, just before the sun comes up, the pink light will bounce down from these clouds and onto the foreground.

Use a Polarizer and a soft grad filter to bring the most of the colour in front of you.

Look for strong leading lines that send the eye to a focal point and find your composition.

It’s a great time of the year to get shots of Table Mountain because there spring flowers in the sand dunes in this area.

I’ve been trying to get this shot right for about 4 years, when I first visited Cape Town.
